e load™ FLY is the Energy Supplement Powder for the heat!

  1. To prevent glycogen levels from dropping to critically low levels, ingestion of 1.0 to 1.2 grams/minute of easily digestible carbohydrate is recommended after a period of 60-90 minutes of endurance activity. (1) Ingestion of a readily available carbohydrate can permit glycogen sparing and allow for intensity and duration of the activity to be optimized. Maltodextrin has a glycemic index of 100, indicating it is absorbed rapidly.
  2. Resistant starch that escapes digestion in the small intestine, will move down to the large intestine where the particles will have to either undergo fermentation by gut microflora or be excreted. This can contribute to flatulence, abdominal cramping and bloating. Furthermore, it can also lead to diarrhea, and contribute to dehydration (4)
  3. It has been well established that a higher content of amylose lowers the digestibility of starch due to the positive correlation between amylose content and the formation of resistant starch (5,6) The relative proportions of amylose to amylopectin depend on the source of the starch. e load FLY only uses carbohydrate derived from a non-GMO 'waxy' maize cornstarch, therefore it has a high amylopectin content and does not contain amylose (resistant starch).
  4. Protein and fat absorb more slowly; require more energy for the body to digest; and may lead to gastrointestinal distress, especially when exercising in the heat.
  5. e load FLY does not contain electrolytes, for ease in bumping up your carbohydrate intake without needing to account for electrolyte contributions.
